Biology: Organic Molecules

Organic Molecules:
What are they made of?
Foods where they can be found:
Functions:
Proteins
Carbon, Oxygen,  Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Sulfur
meat, egg, fish, nuts, beans
Are part of cell membranes.
Make up many of the organelles.
Build body structures (muscles).
Carbohydrates
Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen
fruits, vegetables, sugar
Are part of cell membranes and cell wall.
Lipids
Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen
fats, oils
The energy is stored in lipids for later use.
Nucleic Acids
Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Phosphorus

Contain instructions that cells need to carry out all the life functions (DNA, RNA).
