European Union

The European Union (EU) is a political and economic community made up of 28 member states.

European Commission: The budget and the day-to-day running of the EU is managed by the Commission. One member is appointed from each state, and they meet regularly to propose new laws to the Council and Parliament. Once these laws are passed, the Commission manages their implementation.

Council of European Union: This is where the EU's big decisions are made by the ministers of each member state. Every six months, a different member state hosts the Council's sessions and sets agenda.
